Dr. Thornbury (Former Chief
Resident) is originally a Pharmacist from Virginia who returned to
study medicine at the University
of Louisville. He was
a summa cum laude/AOA graduate who completed two years of post-graduate
training in General Surgery prior to joining the residency as an
advanced PGY2 in 1997. He is currently in private practice and
serves in the hospital's wound clinic. |

Dr. Wright (Former Chief Resident) received an undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky. He graduated in 1998 from the University of Louisville School of Medicine where he received the Joel Elks Physician in the Arts Scholarship and the Phi Delta Epsilon Service Award. Dr. Wright is originally from Hodgenville, Kentucky. He currently serves as the Program Director for his Alma Mater. |

Dr. Gray graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine she received the Carroll L. Witten, Sr. Award in Family Practice. She received a B.A. from Western Kentucky University. Dr. Gray is from Bowling Green, Kentucky where she is the medical director of a public health clinic. |

Dr. Purvis is originally from Lafayette, Indiana. He received his B.A. from Purdue University in 1994. He was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society as a junior student and was also the recipient of the Outstanding Senior Award at Purdue University. Dr. Purvis graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1998. He is in private practice in Glasgow, Kentucky. He also serves as Associate Clinical Professor on Faculty at the Residency program. |

Dr. Reddy is from India where she received an undergraduate degree in biology/math and a doctorate in medicine. She has been actively involved in prostate cancer research at Wayne State University in Detroit for the two years prior to acceptance at our residency. She is currently in pursuit of Post-Graduate Fellowship training. |

Dr. Banks received his undergraduate and medical degrees from The University of Kentucky. Raised in Letcher County, Kentucky, Dr. Banks always knew he wanted to be a doctor. He is currently providing primary care in a rural community in Eastern Kentucky. |

Dr. Crider (Former Chief Resident) received his undergraduate degree in physics and his medical degree from The University of Louisville. Dr. Crider grew up in Harlan County, Kentucky, and plans to someday live and work in a small town or rural area. He is currently serving in the Air Force as a commissioned officer. |

Dr. Drury received his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University and his medical degree from The University of Kentucky. Dr. Drury grew up in Ridgetop, TN, which is about 70 miles south of Glasgow. He is currently in private practice in Edmonton Kentucky with Dr. Dunn. |

Dr. Dunn received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Kentucky. Dr. Dunn was born and raised in Hazard, Kentucky. It is his ability to take on a variety of interests and responsibilities that lead him to choose family practice. He is currently in private practice in Edmonton Kentucky with Dr. Drury. |

Ricardo Fereirra, M.D. is from Paraguay. His wife completed her residency in Family Practice at the University of Louisville. Dr. Ferriera enjoys international music, movies, literature, comic art, traveling and sports. He is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and Guarani, a native language of Paraguay. He is in private practice in Louisville. |

Eric Loy, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky. He grew up in Russell County and looks forward to practicing medicine in a similar setting. His interests include golf, fishing and hunting. He is currently in private practice in Cumberland County. |

Todd Williams, M.D. (Former Chief Resident) is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Morehead State University. He comes from a small town in Eastern Kentucky, the son of a retired schoolteacher and a federal mining inspector. He is very active and has a variety of interests including fishing, golf, reading, basketball, softball and camping. He is currently in private practice in Hart County. |

| Adam French, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Louisville
School of Medicine. He is a personable physician who before
entering medical school was a sheet-metal worker, served in the U.S. Army - 1st Ranger Battalion 75th
Ranger Regiment, and served in the National Guard. Dr. French is
in private practice in southern Indiana. |

| Samantha McLerran, M.D. is a
graduate of Meharry Medical College
in Nashville Tennessee. She is energetic and engaging. She is
fluent in German and medical Spanish. Dr. McLerran's hobbies and
interests
include golf, reading, ceramics, gardening and cooking. She is in
private practice in her hometown in Tennessee. |

| Melanie Miller, M.D. grew up in Hodgenville, Kentucky.
She is a graduate of the University
of Louisville School of Medicine. Before medical school she
was a "Hilltopper" graduating Western
Kentucky University in 1997. Her interests include riding and
showing American Saddlebred and Morgan horses, reading,
swimming, water and snow skiing. Dr. Miller is in private
practice in Adair County. |

raised in neighboring Monticello, Kentucky. He is quiet,
compassionate and a very good fit for Family Medicine. He
completed his medical education at the University of Louisville
School of Medicine. Dr. Ryan enjoys golf, fishing, basketball
and anything involving the outdoors. He is in private practice in

Shannon Elliott, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Louisville
School of Medicine. Dr. Elliott received his undergraduate
degree in Biology and Chemistry from Western
Kentucky University. He grew up in Constantine, KY and plans
to return to a rural area to practice. A quiet man with an easy
smile and pleasant attitude, Dr. Elliott enjoys hunting, fishing,
movies and playing rook. He is in private practice in his

school basketball games, exercising, and spending time with her

Resident) was born and raised in neighboring Russell
Springs, Kentucky. She completed her medical education at the

meticulous. Dr. Jones enjoys singing, playing the piano,
traveling, photography, swimming, jet skiing, and boating. Dr.

Dr. Shirley-Jones also studied genetics at Western Kentucky University. She is intelligent, caring, and motivated. Born in Glasgow Kentucky, Dr. Shirley-Jones is now one of the faculty members at our program. Her hobbies and interests include travel, politics, and children's issues. |
